Moving on, growing up

First I’d like to start this Blog off with some love:

MashAllah she has grown so much. The wife has gotten a new, full time job so Lailah stays with me from the morning till mid afternoon. Her mom comes at 4pm and takes over while I go back to work for the dinner shift. Lailah also comes to the restaurant so we have a great, portable crib set up in the office. I always restock every night my baby bag with essentials so I can grab and go in the mornings. By the way don’t let the wife buy a designer baby bag, personally they aren’t practical and will only hurt their shoulders in the long run. This is what I use, I got it on sale for $40:

Also I’ve learned besides making sure baby food is natural, organic, non gmo and all that important healthy stuff, the one company besides Gerbers that we appreciate and the baby loves to eat from is Beech Nut:

To be honest, being a father hasn’t hit me hard, just because I take it as something I’ve always been and felt ever since I got married. I don’t really know how to explain it, when people ask how it’s like being a father, I tell them that the feeling is surreal. That it was like she was always with me, that invisible friend I had always talked to or felt was with me growing up. That one part of my soul that knew something good was going to come from me and to keep being good, helping others and stay honest, that the time would come and it has.

There are many milestones in life, for me, I am fortunate to go through the good and the bad with my wife, a lot more recently of the bad now with my wife and child. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s definitely a learning experience that helps the soul get stronger through any situation. We are in the process of moving out of my parents house, looking for a place of our own, we can only afford to rent at the moment. Doing this has prompted me to learn the hard way on never take any hand outs, no matter who it’s from, no matter how well you know that person, because there will always be a chance that they will hold it against you and take all the credit for who you are today because of what they did for you in the past. Everyone situation is obviously different, but in mine it’s definitely better this way so that I can make it on my own and teach my children while growing up on how to be independent and how to work for themselves so that they can value a gift even more. I’m not saying that I did not value the things that I was given to me but when someone gives you something and then later on they say you owe me because I give it to you then I’m just thinking I would rather have not gotten that gift instead of owing someone. It’s basically a messy situation in a bit confusing but the bottom line is it’s better that way, even if we struggle with money and living on our own, that’s where everything starts, from the bottom. At least I’ll have more time to do my extracurricular activities like getting back to reading and being less on my phone or laptop. Also have more time to make movies and focus on my side projects, where we are thinking of living is much closer to my wife’s job so she doesn’t have to leave extra early. It’s just a headache at the moment but as long as you focus And set goals, everything else falls into place. Thanks for taking the time to read, for next time I’ll keep you guys updated on where I am, what I’m doing, and if there’s any new videos for the YouTube channel.

Sorry I haven’t updated the blog in a bit,I was enjoying my vacation after not having one for five years. It has been a wonderful experience, even though I had gotten deathly sick, poisoned by a damn scorpion plant and was not too far from 2 firefights. I was happy enough to travel to my fathers home village,Khoshi,I stayed their for my cousins wedding and the second time I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. The village is a true definition of what a simple life should be,in slept under the stars, watched how the young boys farmed to keep their crops alive, stared in awe at how amazing my grandfathers masjid has turned out after the additions to it. The only way I can show you my journey is by pictures:

This was my first trip along with my last trip to khoshi Village.

So it’s day 6 here in Kabul, Afghanistan & I have already barged my brains out & had diarrhea, I am officially in Kabul now haha. I’m actually surprised, my metabolism has been sped up due to my months of dieting that after I got sick, within in hours of sleep and plenty of fluids I heal up. Ramadan starts on July 8th,which will be very exciting for sure since we are spending half of it here in Afghanistan. Here are some pictures of what’s close by, we haven’t traveled to other places yet but we will before Ramadan:

Kabul is an amazing place,so manny people, amazing scenery, great food & always surrounded by beautiful mountains. In went to a small, basement like gym already after almost 2 weeks of traveling and recuperating:

It was great to get a good workout in,I mailed my supplements from New Jersey to Kabul exactly 2 weeks ago so anyway now in should get them. In the mean time my ore workout is Monster Energy Drink and they have EAS packaged protein shake if 20 grams of protein each so most likely I’ll drink 2 after my workout with either white rice or bread. I eyeball all my food instead of weighing them because my scale isn’t here and my family who lives in a third world country would think me crazy for limiting my food intake with a scale hahaha. I am so grateful to God for giving me this experience and time to relax from work, after 5 years of work I can enjoy vacation with my wife, who as well hasn’t seen her family in 5 years. It will never be that long again & we will visit at least every 1-2 years, saving is always important folks!

So here we are,my wife and I,traveling. We got 3 hours of sleep last night, woke up at 5 am,got ready and headed out with our luggage. 20130528-111203.jpg

We left at 6:15 am and didn’t arrive at JFK till 8am.

The check in desk opened at 9 am, we weighed our luggage at home last night, then this morning before they opened. The Rules are each passenger is allowed 50 lbs each luggage, which should be 32 inches long I believe, like a duffle bag. We brought 9 bags with each one weighing 65 lbs each just incase something was a little over or not. Good thing I lift weights because these bags were insanely light, everyone was looking at me as if I had super strength haha.
Saliha and I said our tearful goodbyes to everyone & went through security. I’m not surprised on how overpriced everything is,all these fancy expensive stores, even the snack stands were charging $3 for a bottled water! I was going to buy those neck pillows but they costed $32 so I figured I’ll live haha. I was so relieved to see one of these though:

Everything’s charged, thanks to all of you for saying good bye,you are all in our prayers, we will update you once we land in Turkey at 5am their time InshaAllah.

I want to first start off with this link that got me to start today’s blog: I won’t lose

I was thinking, we rely in our parents growing up,we rely on them for everything; sometimes we rely on them even when we shouldn’t and are too old. I know I do,we all do that. If you want to take matters into your own hands, if you want to stand on your own two feet and be an independent man or women then you need to take responsibility not only of your actions but of your thoughts and words. You need to recognize what your doing wrong and see how you can fix it. With me it was how I was eating everyday & how I was working out. I know 5 years ago I was crazy strong, but due to a stupid injury on my part I had to rehab myself back to perform properly at the GM but never as heavy anymore. It bothers me still to this day. An example was back in the day right after high school I was able to do 80 lbs each arm for dumbel press 8 times, I did t without a spotter and my arm went totally the wrong way. I heard a rip and pop,I knew there it wouldn’t be the same then. My shoulder had gotten swollen the next day and I couldn’t move it at all. I spent 8 months eating whatever I wanted, hating all the fit people I saw, becoming jealous, envious if the people I went to school with, I started cursing my genes and how I’ve become. It wasn’t till I walked up a flight if stairs and almost collapsed that I realized that I need to take matters into my own hands and stop being a lazy person. Many diseases start off with obesity or being over weight. I wouldn’t let me genes determine who I was or my laziness,it was time to act. So I had cut the body fat from my bringing BMI of 30% all the way down to 12%, rose up to 19% cut again down to 11% & now I’m doing a clean and healthy bulk to gain muscle. I still do cardio everyday but my diet is the one thing I need to keep my finger on. We can’t rely on other people to motivate us,it always and must come working. Are you tired of looking at the mirror at the same over weight you? Are you tired of being out if breath, not able to run a mile under 10 min?? Take charge of your life because in the end no one will do anything for you except you, what the mind wants,it’ll get so focus yourself mentally and through the Grace of God it’ll come to you when you put your Mind to it.

When I’m hungry I snack on cucumbers and spice.
